As a national performing arts company committed to exploring the value of Korean cultural content and pioneering new theatrical forms, the Seoul Performing Arts Company (SPAC) presents a bold reimagining of one of Korea’s most iconic historical heroes, Yi Sun-Sin, in an innovative style.
Directed by Lee Gina, with music by Kim Moon-jeong and pansori composition by Lee Jaram, the production brings to life the inner world of Yi Sun-Sin —a man torn between his duty inspiration from a dream recorded in his War Diary of Yi Sun- Sin, it portrays the general’s conflict and struggle in times of national turmoil.
